Everyone has different preferences for applying makeup. Some prefer to use their hands, some sponges and some brushes and I'm definitely a brush kinda lady and there are certain brushes I use everyday. So today I thought I would share those brushes with you.
As you can probably see I am a Real Techniques brush lover, firstly because they are great quality and secondly because their price tag doesn't brake the bank. Most of my Real Technique Brushes are from the Core Collection. The Core Collection provides the basic brushes needed for applying makeup. However, there are some Mac brushed which are amazeballs and ecotools brushes thrown in there.
The Brush in the background is from the Real Techniques Core Collections. It is the Buffing Brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation. I did start out using it for applying powder foundation but I now use it for blusher.
Contour brush from Real Techniques Core Collection: I use this brush to apply matting powder, I feel it's amazing at getting in creases and doesn't give off too much powder and is precise.
To apply my powder foundation I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: It provides a light to medium coverage for powder which is buildable, although not made for powder, I feel that for me it works well.
These two brushes are from Mac. The brush on the left is a Duo Fiber Face Brush (similar), it provides a very lightweight application so I use it to blend my blusher in with my foundation so there are no harsh lines. On the right is the 219 Pencil Brush used for applying precise eyeshadow on the lids, lash line and crease, which is exactly what I use it for. I got mine as part of a limited edition set which is why it's red.
Detailer brush from Real Techniques Core Collection: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition. I use this brush to apply concealer to blemishes, it's very precise so great for those kinda things.
Lastly is the ecotools brush. This was one of my first brushes and it came as part of 5 piece brush set. This is the Mineral brush. As this brush is one of the smallest brushes I own, I take it out in the day and evening just for the odd touch ups when needed.
What methods do you use to apply makeup, hands, sponges or brushes? If you like leave a comment below on your favourite brushes of perhaps brushes you don't like.
Until next time
