So last week I was lucky enough to get the chance to travel around Florida with my dad and brother. It was such an amazing trip and experience. It's weird how different America (or Florida) is from the UK even though we speak the same language. I just assumed it would be quite similar, just on the bigger scale. I was wrong.
Day 1
We spent most of the day traveling so when we arrived in florida after collecting our luggage and car it was around 4pm, so we just chilled by the pool and later went to grab a bite to eat. After a gift shop caught our eye and we just had to see what was in it! As we walked through the wizards magical bread we were bombarded by loads of Disney things...
Day 2
We drove about 1 hour out of Orlando to a state park called Blue Springs. We did 4 long but fun hours of canoeing where we saw some alligators! It was amazing to soak up the scenes of the river. At some points the water was so still it was like a mirror reflections. Later we swam with fish in safer bluer waters. There were still warning signs of alligators - swim at own risk, but that didn't stop us. Also, apparently manatee dolphins migrate here for the winter season. The season was not mentioned on the website and we were hoping to catch a sight of some but either way it was still an amazing day. Later we went to Daytona Beach for a wonder and some dinner. South-End-On-Sea sprung to mind when looking around Daytona Beach.
Cheeky canoeing selfie - you know how I do ;p
Day 3
We're in Miami baby! We traveled the long way from Orlando to Miami stoping off at Melbourne on the way to eat and paddle our feet. Once we were in Miami we parked up and pretty much spent the whole day on South Beach which was full of jellyfish, eek! We watched the sun set and later went to eat at an old cuban restaurant along the high street. It was full of cubans and locals and was such a nice scene.
Stay tuned for part 2 ya'll!
